The Spring 2017 round of Solarize Rhode Island is now underway! Solarize Rhode Island seeks to increase the adoption of small-scale solar electricity in participating communities through a competitive tiered pricing structure that increases the savings for everyone as more home and business owners sign contracts.

Now in its fourth year, Solarize Rhode Island, a partnership between the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER), Commerce RI. More than 475 residents and business owners have signed contracts for small-scale solar electricity systems with the program. Hundreds more have been educated about the economic and environmental benefits of solar electricity, energy efficiency and other clean energy technologies.

Spring 2017 Solarize Rhode Island Request for Municipal Applications is now available

Has your community considered participating in Solarize Rhode Island program or have constituents reached out to you to participate? OER is excited to offer this third opportunity to have new communities apply for the Solarize RI program! Below you will find the application materials. Key components of the application for 2017 include identification of a core team volunteer, known as a “solar ambassador” or group of volunteers for help with the grassroots component of the program.

Only municipalities that have not yet participated in the Solarize RI program are eligible to apply in the Spring 2017 round.
