The Spring 2017 round of Solarize Rhode Island will soon be underway! Solarize Rhode Island seeks to increase the adoption of small-scale solar electricity in participating communities through a competitive tiered pricing structure that increases the savings for everyone as more home and business owners sign contracts.
Now in its fourth year, Solarize Rhode Island, a partnership between the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER), Commerce RI, and a marketing consultant. Nearly 400 residents and business owners have signed contracts for small-scale solar electricity systems with the program. In addition, hundreds more have been educated about the economic and environmental benefits of solar electricity, energy efficiency and other clean energy technologies.
OER will soon issue a Request for Application for municipalities looking to apply for the Solarize program in Spring 2017. Key components of the application for 2017 include identification of a core team volunteer or group of volunteers for help with the grassroots component of the program. Below is the timeline for the Spring round.
