What Kinds of Assistance are Available?

If you meet income guidelines View the Low income guidelines » and programs guidelines, the CAPs Community Action Program Agencies » provide the following services

• Make direct payments on your behalf to your electric, gas or oil company to help pay your oil bill or to restore gas or electric service.
• Arrange home energy audits and efficiency improvements
• Repair and/or replace inefficient heating systems
• Analyze your energy use, replace inefficient light bulbs and appliances, and install devices to save on hot water.

If you are eligible for LIHEAP you may also qualify for Discount Rates from electric and telephone utilities.

If you are receiving food stamps you may also be eligible for additional food stamp benefits through the H-EAT program.
